Cold cuts make great starter bites , or even better lunch or snack time options for kids and adults alike.I stack my freezer with cold cuts ,that makes life so easy ,for me.
We love to go on long drives and at most times, the destination is not even a scheduled one.Though I make it a point to stack up on dry snacks for hungry little tummies,my little ones look forward to the family favorite -breakfast in the car ....Sausages in barbecue sauce.
This dish has a glossy finish to it that has you craving for more. This can be served with bread or chapathis. I usually roll them up in chapathi with egg and make it a frankie.
What we need.
Sausages-cut into small pieces-2 cups
Barbecue sauce-5 tbsp
Chilly flakes-1/2 tsp
Oregano-1/2 tsp
Garlic minced-3 cloves
Oil-2tbsp
Method
Marinate the cut sausages in the barbecue sauce and oregano for 10 minutes.
Heat oil in a big wok .
Put in the minced garlic and chilly flakes.Saute till golden brown.
Now put in the sausage sauce mixture. And toss well on a high flame for 1 minute.
Reduce flame to a medium and stir till oil separates from the mixture and the Sausages get a lovely brown glossy hue.
Scrape the wok clean of the sticky residue of the sauce.
Serve with the bread of your choice. :)

How will it be with some freshly & coarsely ground black pepper instead of the chilly flakes? Do you have any preference for oil - I am a little partial to olive oil.
Coarse ground pepper is a wonderful add to the dish.go ahead.
Any oil is fine,I use Sunflower oil ..for most dishes , Coconut oil is a must for Kerala dishes.Olive oil is fine too...its your choice :) Happy cooking
